Thread: So what is are you working on this summer

  1. So what is are you working on this summer

I was just wondering what everyone is working on in the shop over the summer? A tan? A beverage? Cleaning up last years mess?

I've let my yard work slide for the last few years and have been spending the last month in the yard battling with weeds taller than my dog and thicker than a carpet. I am coming to the halfway point so I have made some progress. With a little luck I'll get most of it done by the end of the month.

Next month I am heading back to the big smoke for a couple of weeks to build a garden shed - I hope to post plenty of photos of the build progress as we get it going.

In the shop, I have my bench room torn apart an I am reconfiguring the shop and building a couple of new rooms and hope that will be complete by August.... I have a new 12 inch Milwaukee SCMS coming in the next week or so and am going to have to get in there to make some room for it.

    Cheers

    Michael

Since England is done, I can now sit back and just enjoy the game for what it is with out getting too upset.

BTW: My uneducated opinion is Brazil and Spain in the final.

My next needed project is building a small deck out back. Around 10x10 and free floating is the plan.

Back in april we bought a 15 yr old 25 ft coachmen travel trailer. Looked alright, couldn't find any leaks on initial inspection. Wife wanted new upholstery and flooring, so I ripped out the carpet, removed the sofa and single bed platforms, the dinette booth. One front corner of the floor needed repair. Then when I cut out the vinyl floor, the 5/8 aspenite was rotting at the entrance door and into the closet. Also behind the toilet and under the vanity. Got the floor patched, and installed Armstrong 6x36 vinyl strip wood grain tile from HD . Neat stuff, has an adhesive strip on one edge and one end. I bought an older industrial walking foot Singer, sewed up new covers for the sofa and booth cushions. Just have one more set to do for the booth. Got a new awning and have been sealing corners and windows with RV caulk or butyl tape.
Last weekend , got to looking at wheel bearings, and when I pulled the drum on the 3 rd wheel to re-pack the bearings , the brake lining fell out. Waiting for new brake shoes. Some pics of my traveling money pit trailer.Name: 746818h_20.jpg

got a used awning from the RV repair guy, recovered the sink covers and stove cover with gloss formica. Got some tremclad on the hitch. Swmbo bought new venitian blinds, spent Canada Day installing them. Now waiting for brakes, thats what I have been up to.
