A new look and better features for you at Canadian Woodshop News & Review

As you may have noticed, the Canadian Woodshop News & Review Forum was shut down for a while on December 24. We regret depriving you of your daily woodworking fix, but the closure was necessary to upgrade the site software. The upgrades will allow us to offer much more to our community, from the upgraded and enhanced forums to our new blogging feature as well as much more extensive content integration across the whole site.

Let us know what you want to see on this site and we'll do our best to make it happen. Providing feedback on any article on the site is just one of the ways you can stay in touch. Have a comment or compliment about a piece you just read or watched? - Click on the comments icon and have your say.

We haven't got everything perfect just yet, but we wanted to keep downtime to a minimum so you can expect to see slight changes in the colour scheme over the next few days. We expect to be making changes to the home page with the addition of various widgets and we are also populating the home page with content daily, so check back often.

So check out the new features and if there is something you would like to see, use the new comment feature at the end of this article.

I feel that the new look is great. No trouble logging in for me. Still feel that there's too many subforums though.

I'm really enjoying this new format. It has taken me a few trial and error shots at posting different things but it is a quick learning curve. I really like the overview box on the right of the home page. A little tweaking here and there and this will be a world class sight.

I would like to be able to stay logged in. Don't say it's my computer. I have no problems on any other forum, only this one! Everything was fine before the new format.

I thought I had it beat last evening when I left the window open and just refreshed when I got back. No dice it made me log in again!

I agree, I'll be combining most of them into three or four larger forums. What do you think about Woodworking. The Swap Shop, Off Topic?

What are your thoughts about combining the hand tool users with the power tool guys? Think they'll be able to play nice?

I certainly think it's worth a try. Got my vote. I'd even have the Off-Topic in the woodworking -Most folks have no problem putting the words "Off-Topic" in the subject.

I have tried everything and I seem to stay signed in until I sign out - doesn't matter if I keep the site page up or not.
