Revolutionary Lithium-ion Battery Replaces 6,000 AA Alkaline Batteries
Techtronic Industries (TTI) Canada introduces the next generation of battery power with the launch of Ryobi® Tek4® Cordless Electronic Tools, featuring a 4-volt Lithium-ion rechargeable battery that can outlast 6,000 AA alkaline batteries. The revolutionary battery powers all Ryobi® 4-volt tools, including the new line of 10 Ryobi® Tek4® Cordless Electronic Tools designed to handle even the toughest job site elements, as well as, extreme lifestyles. The new Ryobi® Tek4® battery and tools are available exclusively at The Home Depot and backed by the Ryobi® two-year warranty.
“Ryobi® Tek4® technology is a giant leap ahead of other batteries as far as power, endurance and performance,” says Craig Baxter, President TTI Canada. “Each Tek4® battery can replace 6,000 AA alkaline batteries, which can help reduce waste in landfills. The family of Ryobi® Tek4® Tools consists of 10 items designed for remodelers, builders and do-it-yourselfers as well as hobbyists and vacationers. The tools encompass five categories: convenience (Portable Power Source), documentation (Durashot™ MP Digital Camera), safety (High Intensity LED Flashlight and Audio Plus™ Noise Suppression Headphones), security (Motion Sensing Alarm with Remote and Digital Key Lock Box) and measurement (Self-Leveling Plumb/Cross Laser, Professional Laser Distance Measure, Professional Digital Multimeter and Professional Infrared Thermometer). All the tools feature a weather-resistant, rugged design to endure rough jobsite conditions and anything life can throw at them.
Each Ryobi® Tek4® battery has more than 2,000 recharge cycles in its lifetime, offering the same power and longer runtime as three AA alkaline batteries. Over its lifetime, each powerful 4-volt Lithium-ion Tek4® battery can replace 6,000 AA batteries, saving homeowners $8,800. The battery offers a long runtime for convenience and a prolonged shelf-life, so they will always be ready for action. The suggested retail price (SRP) for each battery is $12.99.
Consumers can choose from two 4-volt chargers. The Standard Charger is ENERGY STAR® certified and compact, featuring a Smart Fuel Gauge conveying the battery’s remaining charge. The charge time is three to five hours and the SRP is $11.99. For a few dollars more (SRP $39.99), the Rapid Charger will charge two batteries simultaneously in only 30 minutes. The product features a dual fuel gauge and includes a charger module, wall adapter and car adapter. The Rapid Charger Bonus Pack (SRP $39.99) includes a 4-volt lithium ion battery.
